Bún chả cá Bà Phiến (Bà Thừa)

An often crowded venue in Da Nang, Bun Cha Ca Ba Phien serves some delicious bowls of fish noodles. The broth is thick, the noodles are slurpy, the fish is fresh and all come in a big and hot bowl. There is bun rieu (noodles with crab broth) that is also very delicious. Try it out.

Phở Bắc Hải

A trip to Vietnam is never complete without a bowl of Pho bo (beef rice noodles). Pho Bac Hai is a small street stall next to big, fancy restaurants, but you know what they say, don't judge a Pho stall by its appearance! Trust the locals to know the best pho stalls in town and judging by the years it has been in operation, they sure know how to make a good one. If you have no idea what to get, give Pho tai (rare beef Pho) a try!

Quán Bánh Cuốn Tiến Hưng

Bánh cuốn is a rice noodle roll made from a thin, wide sheet of steamed fermented rice batter filled with seasoned ground pork and minced wood ear mushroom. These savory rolls are usually served with chả lụa (Vietnamese pork sausage). If you're only familiar with dishes like noodles or rice, eating "banh cuon" is a whole new experience with its delightful taste and smell. Its menu covers almost 300 authentic Vietnamese dishes, giving you tons of options, all at a very reasonable price. We recommend a steaming bowl of Bun Bo Hue and a cup of milk coffee to start your day.

If you are craving some spicy dishes to warm your stomach, you can't go wrong with Thai food. Order a small hot pot, some Chang (Thai beer), and then wrap up your meal with the famous Thai dessert, mango sticky rice. And don't worry if you're not fond of crazily spicy food, you can tell the staff your preferred spicy level and they will cater your order to your taste!

Mì Quảng Ếch Bếp Trang

If you're looking for an authentic Da Nang dish, this must be the one. "My" means noodles and "Quang" stands for Quang Nam, a province which Da Nang used to be a part of. There are many types of My Quang (chicken, pork & shrimps, eggs) but the restaurant's specialty is Frog noodles. Noodles, frog meat, vegetables, and broth come in separate bowls and placed on a rattan tray. This beautiful set is a treat to both your stomach and your eyes.

Tucked in a small street, Bao An Macrobiotic is a vegetarian restaurant that will satiate your hunger while calming you with its homelike ambiance. Bánh Xèo Bà Dưỡng

Our team voted this as the best banh xeo in Da Nang. Banh xeo which means "sizzling cake," takes its name from the loud sizzling sound it makes when the rice batter is poured onto the hot skillet. This is a savory fried pancake made from rice flour, water, and turmeric powder, stuffed with slivers of fatty pork, shrimp, diced green onion, and bean sprouts. Don't miss out on this classic favorite!

Tau Hu Xe Lam

Young tofu is one of the most favorite desserts of all time for the Vietnamese. With a soft texture, nice toppings go well with the sweet soup and ice. It's extremely refreshing. Tau Hu Xe Lam has many varieties of sweet tofu with different toppings such as fruits, jellies, etc. Enjoy!

Đặc sản Hoàng Tín - Bánh tráng cuốn thịt heo

Rice paper with pork is one of Da Nang's famed specialties. If you consider yourself a foodie, this dish must be on your list. What's in this dish? The ingredients are pretty simple: steamed pork shoulder and buttocks cut into thin slices and fresh vegetables. You might ask how this dish can be so good with these basic ingredients. Well, the secret is in the sauce! A roll of succulent pork strips matched with fresh vegetables and wrapped in rice paper is dipped in the sweet, salty, and spicy mam nem or fermented fish sauce--and that makes the great difference. You've got to try it!

Insider's tip: There are some herbs with a very strong flavors in this dish. I'd try a tiny bite of each and see if there is anything not to my liking. If the coast is clear, then you know what to do.

The Marble Mountains

Five craggy marble outcrops topped with pagodas form the atmospheric Marble Mountains. Each mountain represents one natural element: Thuy Son (Water), Moc Son (Wood), Hoa Son (Fire), Kim Son (Metal or Gold) and Tho Son (Earth). This area is both a famous pilgrimage site and a place where Vietnam’s marble artisans show their skills. The peaks, caves, tunnels, grottos, and temples hold many surprises, just waiting to be discovered.

Da Nang Cathedral

The Pink Church (Da Nang Cathedral) or as the locals call it, the Chicken Church, is a must-visit for every traveler, even the non-religious, for its remarkable architecture. Built-in 1923 and inaugurated in 1924, the gothic-style church with a rooster-topped steeple has since been a lively place of worship for the Catholic community in Da Nang. The rooster is made of alloy steel, hollow inside, and is used to determine the wind direction. The church's vibrant, photogenic facade has made its appearance in thousands of Ins pictures and probably will make it into yours as well.

The Dragon Bridge

The Dragon Bridge is one of Da Nang's most recognizable structures, shaped to look like a dragon. It is a favorite among residents and visitors, who come for the atmosphere created by the fun-loving crowd that gathers here nightly. Local tip: Every Saturday and Sunday night at 9 PM, the dragon head breathes fire and spits water, creating a colorful spectacle. If you stand on the bridge during the show you're going to get wet!

Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture

With so much modern history to explore in Vietnam, the ancient civilizations of this region often get forgotten. This is a small museum, but it is one of the largest collections of Cham sculptures in the world and has some magnificent pieces.

Tips: It's worth paying the extra $1 or so to get the audio guide. Some of the English signs on the exhibits aren't great.

Chùa Linh Ứng

From the fishing village, you keep driving forward and you will reach your next stop, Linh Ung Pagoda up the hill. This is where a stunning, white, 67-meter-tall Lady Buddha stands and looks out of Da Nang Bay. She is said to protect the fishermen and local residents from storms and give them safe passage.

Further up the steep winding roads and you’ll see a sign pointing to a lighthouse. Follow it to get to one of the oldest trees you’ve ever seen. In a small clearing, a majestic Banyan tree towers over visitors and spreads an aura of peace. Take in the special ambiance of this place before continuing your journey.

Insider's tip: Wear long clothes to show respect.

Bana Hills Cable Station

Ba Na Hills is a top-notch resort, recreational, and amusement complex, located atop a hill. It looks almost like a page out of a fairytale, with its cobblestoned paths, castles, gardens, wine cellars, cathedrals, and most of all, the Golden Bridge, that famous bridge that took the Ins world by storm recently. Created during the French occupation as a vacation spot for French officials, it is now a beautiful tourist attraction - great whether you are alone, with family, or on a romantic trip. Make sure to explore the nooks and crannies and take a lot of photos!

Local drinks

Cộng Cafe

Call it a day at one of Vietnam's most popular and well-loved cafe chains, Cong Cafe. Taking inspiration from the days of communist Vietnam, the coffee shop is filled with propaganda posters and uses old rustic tables and chairs and brick walls. We highly recommend their signature drink, coconut coffee. The richness of coconut and the bitter flavor of roasted coffee blends well to create a drink that's tasty, unique, and refreshing.

Tips: Try it with sunflower seeds, like locals do. If you come at night, you also have an amazing view of the Han River. What a way to end the day!

Set within a two-storey building at the grand intersection of Tran Phu Street, Bach Dang Street, Hung Vuong Street, and Tran Hung Dao Street, you will find hundreds of stalls selling an array of locally produced handicrafts, clothes, and accessories. It is very much like a miniature version of Ben Thanh Market, an emblematic symbol of Vietnam. Even if you are not looking to buy anything, it still offers a fascinating glimpse into local life in Da Nang, so do stroll around.

OQ Lounge Pub DnD

Right smack on Bach Dang Street, Da Nang's buzzing pub street, OQ Lounge Bar stands out as a crowd favorite. And it's easy to tell why. Cocktails are amazing and there's a DJ playing good music until 2 am. The bar is also spacious and offers a great deal of options for late-night eats.
